June 6, 2006--First Annual Contest (No Kidding)
Blogging is a lonely pursuit. One hears only occasionally from those who might stumble upon it. Which it fine—most bloggers, me included, like our anonymity. We zap things out into cyberspace and are happy if they land anywhere. Basically, we do this for our own amusement; and if someone happens to listen in from time to time on our electronic steam-of-consciousness, so much the better.
To celebrate my 250th, I am initiating the First Annual Behind the (New York) Times Contest. This might smoke out a few of you who are competitive; and by calling it the First Annual, it will give me some incentive to keep on blogging.
Here’s the deal—
Yesterday I posted a blog about the National Spelling Bee (“SEPERATE”), which you can find directly below this one by scrolling down. As another example of my little jokes, I intentionally (and probably unintentionally) misspelled a number of words. The contest calls for you to discover them and then let me know how many there are. (You can submit your entry by clicking on Comments, also below.)
If more than one contestant gets the right answer, from among those I will randomly select the winner.
The winner will receive lunch for two (on me) at any restaurant of their choosing. The dollar amount not to exceed $75.
When a winner is identified, we will figure out how I will get the money to you—most likely I’ll simply send you a check.
All entries must be submitted by June 10, 2006.
Have fun!

I count 32 including the title, but math and spelling have never been my thing.
I count 29.
I get 29, but I'll admit I'm guessing on a couple.
